New Patients
- When making you first appointment, please inform the receptionist that you are a new client. Expect to be here for approximately one hour for your first appointment with one pet, if bringing additional pets your visit will be extended.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early - this allows ample time to fill out all necessary paperwork, obtain a current weight and answer any questions that you may have. You may also fill out our New Client Packet and bring it with you.
- Things to bring with you:
- All previous medical records. We will make copies to be put into your pets medical chart. (If you do not have the records please phone your previous vet/breeder and have them fax over the records to the appropriate office)
- A stool (fecal) sample and preferably a refrigerated urine sample. Just in case they are needed, this will prevent an extra trip back to the office.
Admissions
Admitting times are between 8:30 am - 9:00am unless prior arrangements have been made. This allows for our technicians to prep them for their procedures. Different procedures require different preparations and time may vary accordingly.
Expect the following when checking your pet into the hospital:
- Obtaining a current weight of your pet.
- Review of your contact information and number where we can reach you for the day.
- Review of medical care plan with the owner, obtaining signature and full payment at time of drop off.
- Your pet will have a cage card and label attached to carrier.
We ask all of our clients who are admitting patients to please allow yourself ample time to admit your pet into the hospital, at least 15 minutes. This may require you to make changes in your schedule. We make every effort to make the check in process as timely and efficient as possible but we cannot rush the process and possible miss important information pertaining to your pet's procedure. Your pet's safety is our main concern.

Patients Requiring Sedation/Anesthesia
We ask that you do not allow them to have food after 9PM the night before, they may have water through the night but pick up first thing in the am.
This allows enough time for the stomach to be empty before sedation. If they have food it may cause a delay and/or a cancellation of the procedure.
If your pet is having surgery, expect the surgery site to be shaved and either closed with sutures or staples to be removed at a later date. A small portion of the leg will be shaved for the placement of the I.V. catheter. Pets being brought in for abdominal ultrasounds will have the entire abdominal area shaved as well as their sides if needed.
Patients Requiring Lab Work
Any pet being admitted to have blood work done: we ask that they do not have any food after midnight the night before your appointment.
